- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 3/4 cup packed light brown sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour

- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 2 cups chocolate chips (milk, semi-sweet, or a mix)
Instructions
- Cream together butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy (about 2-3 minutes).
- Add eggs one at a time and then stir in the vanilla extract.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt.
- Gradually mix dry ingredients into the wet ingredients until just combined.
- Gently fold in chocolate chips until evenly distributed.
- Cover the dough and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes or up to 24 hours.
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
- Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto baking sheets, leaving 2 inches between each cookie.
- Bake for 9-12 minutes until edges are golden brown and centers are soft.
- Cool on the baking sheets for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
For extra flavor, consider toasting the flour and don’t skip chilling the dough to improve texture.
