Description

Ingredients

  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, room temperature
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 3/4 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 cups chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour and baking soda. Set it aside.
  3. In a large bowl, cream the room-temperature butter with the granulated and brown sugars until smooth and fluffy.
  4. Add the salt, vanilla, and eggs into the mix, and beat until thoroughly combined.
  5. Gradually incorporate the dry ingredients into the wet mixture, mixing just until combined.
  6. Fold in the chocolate chips.
  7. Drop large spoonfuls of dough onto ungreased baking sheets, leaving space between each cookie.
  8. Bake for 9 to 11 minutes, until golden brown around the edges with a slightly soft center.
  9. Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheets for a few minutes before transferring to wire racks to cool completely.

Notes

For a chewy texture, bake cookies for 9 minutes. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to a week or freeze for three months.
