Description

Deliciously spiced gingerbread cookies with a crinkled surface, rolled in powdered sugar.


Ingredients

  • 2 1/4 cups All-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon Baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon Ground ginger
  • 1 teaspoon Ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon Ground cloves
  • 1/2 teaspoon Salt
  • 3/4 cup Unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup Brown sugar, packed
  • 1/4 cup Granulated sugar
  • 1 Large egg
  • 1/4 cup Molasses
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract
  • Powdered sugar for dusting

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Whisk flour, baking soda, ginger, cinnamon, cloves, and salt in a medium bowl.
  3. In a large bowl, cream butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar together until light and fluffy.
  4. Beat in the egg, molasses, and vanilla until well combined.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing until just combined.
  6. Scoop tablespoons of dough and roll into balls.
  7. Roll each ball in powdered sugar to coat completely.
  8. Place cookies on a parchment-lined baking sheet and space them apart.
  9. Bake for 10-12 minutes, until edges are set and tops are crinkled.
  10. Allow cookies to cool on the baking sheet before transferring to a wire rack.

Notes

Store uneaten cookies in an airtight container for up to a week. The cookie dough can be frozen for later use.
