Description
Deliciously spiced gingerbread cookies with a crinkled surface, rolled in powdered sugar.

- 2 1/4 cups All-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon Baking soda
- 1 teaspoon Ground ginger
- 1 teaspoon Ground cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon Ground cloves
- 1/2 teaspoon Salt
- 3/4 cup Unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup Brown sugar, packed
- 1/4 cup Granulated sugar
- 1 Large egg
- 1/4 cup Molasses
- 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract
- Powdered sugar for dusting
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Whisk flour, baking soda, ginger, cinnamon, cloves, and salt in a medium bowl.
- In a large bowl, cream butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar together until light and fluffy.
- Beat in the egg, molasses, and vanilla until well combined.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing until just combined.
- Scoop tablespoons of dough and roll into balls.
- Roll each ball in powdered sugar to coat completely.
- Place cookies on a parchment-lined baking sheet and space them apart.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes, until edges are set and tops are crinkled.
- Allow cookies to cool on the baking sheet before transferring to a wire rack.
Notes
Store uneaten cookies in an airtight container for up to a week. The cookie dough can be frozen for later use.
