Description
A comforting yet guilt-free version of Salisbury steaks made with ground beef or turkey and served in a rich mushroom gravy.
Ingredients

- 1 pound ground beef or turkey
- 1/4 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/4 cup onion, finely chopped
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 cup beef broth
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 1 tablespoon water
- 1 cup mushrooms, sliced
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
Instructions
- In a mixing bowl, combine ground beef or turkey, breadcrumbs, chopped onion, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
- Shape into 4–6 patties and set aside.
- In a skillet, heat olive oil and brown the patties for about 4–5 minutes on each side. Remove from skillet.
- Add sliced mushrooms to the skillet and sauté until softened.
- Pour in beef broth and bring to a simmer.
- Create a cornstarch slurry with water and stir it into the simmering mixture.
- Return the patties to the skillet and let them simmer together for about 5-7 minutes.
Notes
Rest the patties for better texture while cooking. Leftovers can be stored in the fridge for up to three days or frozen for a month.
