Description

Delightfully chewy and visually stunning red velvet cookies with a hint of cocoa and a snowy powdered sugar exterior.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups All-Purpose Flour
  • 1/2 cup Unsweetened Cocoa Powder
  • 1 teaspoon Baking Powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon Baking Soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 cup Granulated Sugar
  • 1/2 cup Vegetable Oil
  • 2 large Eggs
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract
  • 1 tablespoon Red Food Coloring
  • Powdered Sugar for rolling

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In a large bowl, mix the sugar and vegetable oil until well combined.
  4. Add the eggs one at a time, whisking after each addition. Follow with the vanilla extract and red food coloring, mixing until even.
  5. Gradually introduce the dry ingredients into the wet mixture, stirring until just combined.
  6. Chill the dough in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes.
  7. Scoop tablespoon-sized portions of dough, roll them into balls, and coat in powdered sugar.
  8. Place the sugar-coated balls on the prepared baking sheet, leaving space between them.
  9. Bake for 10-12 minutes until edges are set and centers remain soft.
  10. Cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to wire racks.

Notes

For extra creativity, add white chocolate chips or nuts to the dough. If you prefer a lighter version, substitute half the sugar with a natural sweetener.
