Instructions
- Preheat a skillet or griddle over medium-high heat.
- Shape the ground beef into loose balls and season generously with salt and pepper.
- Place the balls on the hot surface and press down firmly to form patties.
- Cook until browned and crispy, about 3 minutes on each side.
- If using cheese, add it to the patties during the last minute of cooking for melting.
- Toast the burger buns until golden brown.
